Dr. Wyatt McDowell

Dr. Wyatt McDowell is an experienced professional with significant experience in nonprofit and church law and has been practicing law in the State of Ohio since 1984. Dr. McDowell has assisted numerous organizations across the country in successfully attaining non-profit tax exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service. He is committed to making life easier for the people of faith who are doing kingdom work and seeking to improve the lives of citizens.

Dr. Wyatt McDowell is a retired former Associate Professor of Law and Taxation at the University of Louisville. He received his B.A. Degree from Wilberforce University, Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Indiana University, and Master’s Degree in Law from the Capital University Law and Graduate Center, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School. Dr. McDowell was formerly an Adjunct Faculty Member at the Institute of Church Administration and Management at The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and at the School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. McDowell’s work history is very diverse and expansive. He has worked for several large corporations in both legal and operational capacities. He has also functioned as a general practitioner of law and served in the capacity of Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio.

An active church board member, he has served as Chair of the Cross Cultural Negotiations Committee, Section of Dispute Resolution of the American Bar Association, and served as a Contributing Editor for Church Treasurer Alert and Seminar Presenter for Christian Ministry Resources, a firm owned by Dr. James F. Cobble, Jr. and Richard R. Hammar, JD, LLM, CPA.

Dr. Wyatt McDowell is privileged to presently serve on the Board of Directors of International Ministerial Fellowship, an association of over 1300 evangelical Christian churches, ministers, lay workers and missionaries working in 44 across the world.
